About YRC
Who we are
The Yackandandah Riding Club (YRC) was formed in 1999 by a small community group who recognised that there were no facilities for adult riding in the area. The club offers a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment in which riders and their horses can engage in a range of equestrian pursuits. As the town has grown, so too has the membership of the club, with around 120 financial members and a waitlist of those wishing to join. The limits of our grounds are restricting us from expanding our membership base.
YRC is the largest equestrian club in North-East Victoria that is affiliated with the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV). The club is also one of the largest community groups within Indigo Shire.
We have members participating and competing in all HRCAV disciplines, including show jumping, dressage, horse trials, combined training, showing, navigation rides and three-phase equitation. For the less experienced, we conduct several in-house training competitions each year to encourage a non - competitive learning environment for those riders who have not had the opportunity to compete in official events.
Our Core Values
Respect: We communicate and act respectfully to all members, supporters, community members and animals at our club.
Support: We are supportive and inclusive of all club and community members.
Empowerment: We encourage all club members to participate in club and wider riding club or community activities.
Education: We provide quality instruction at our club in a wide variety of equine fields.
Mission Statement
